A white sideways “R” on a red background.

Course:

The course is over 80% on natural forest path, with a good chance of stumbling over tree roots during the night. The course is only marked with the white sideways “R” on a red background and clearly visible at junctions. You have to pay a lot of attention at night! Every runner is responsible for his own navigation.

Crew:

Each runner has to organise his own crew to supply him with food and drinks.

It is possible to share a crew with other runners.

The crew has to be named with the application for the run. Support from the crew is approximately every 10k, when the hiking path crosses a public street.

Aidstation:

A big Aidstation is organised in the Rucksack-Herberge ( Backpack Hostel) in Heinsberg at 91 k ( mile 57).

Miscellaneous

Each runner should carry a bottle, some food, money, phonecard cell phone and a strong torch (flashlight) with ample spare batteries. If you quit during the race, you must return to civilization on your own. You also have to phone the organiser immediately.  A route description with an altitude profile (2800 m) is available as a download on the website.

We work on some detail route maps through the towns of Winterberg and Dillingen

I like to say good bye

Best regards

Your Mattin Becker
