Welcome
In the last couple of years, Mattin Becker organised a three or four day stage run from Brilon to Dillenburg, 100 miles in total for some running friends over the mostly cold easter holidays. With this nice event in mind, the idea of a 100 miles non stop run was born, with a comfortable 34 h time limit for the Mattin-Becker-Rothaarsteig-run.
Last year Arnd and Hans-D. ran 100k with their own crews. Stefanie and friends crewed for Arnd and Susi + dog Archie took care of for Hans-D.
The basic requirement for the 100 mile run is a crew which provides the runner or the running group with food/drinks at the support stations. Everybody who wants to start, has to name his crew and show up with them at the start. Otherwise you get a DNS (did not start) and no money back. It is possible to run in small groups with one crew. ( Hans-D. thinks of Pat and Brandi, Peter and Yen and Stefan with Laika- poor Susi)
A basic requirement is, that Mattin makes the final decision for accepting new running friends to his group of Rothaarsteig runners. The run is organised as a family affair. The maximum number of participants is limited to 25.
The red markings along the Rothaarsteig-course are difficult to see at night. It is possible to take a wrong turn a few times. It is all mental. A strong flashlight with a lot of strong batteries, study of maps and patience are necessary. Some training runs on the night sections of the course can be very helpful.
We thank Mattin for
this work and efforts he is doing for our pleasure.
Therefore sign up for the run!
