Car rentals:

Try German www.sixt.com, which is highly recommended in Germany and has fair prices. Rent a car by using the % (special offer) and get a special rate by booking via internet. Compare or try your preferred rent-a-car company as well (Avis, Hertz, Dollar etc.).

Trains:

You can select train connections of the more expensive Intercity Express (ICE) to Kassel-Wilhelmshoehe and the slower but cheaper Regional express to Kassel-Hauptbahnhof by looking into http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en.

How to use the train-information-system: Enter

From: Frankfurt(M)Flughafen
To: Kassel Hbf or Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe

Select public transport:
If you click "without ICE" it will be cheaper, you will have some more stops and the train is a bit slower.

In the "Overview" of the train connections mark or demark your trains (consider plane delay), then click on "Itinary-plus". Finally click at the bottom on "Printview" and press Ctrl-P etc. for a hardcopy.

The Frankfurt Airport has a tricky railway system: There are two different stations, both in Terminal 1: One in the underground (tracks 1,2 and 3), the other one for the ICE high up (tracks 4 and 5). Follow the signs.

How to use a public telephone:

You have to have a telefoncard you can buy almost everywhere.
